Donald Trump, the former 45th President of the United States and presumptive nominee of the Republican Party in the 2024 presidential election, survived an attempted assassination while he was addressing a crowd at a campaign near Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.
Donald Trump was shot and wounded in his upper right ear by Thomas M. Crooks, a 20-year-old man from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Crooks also killed one audience member and injured two other audience members. Crooks fired eight rounds from an AR-15-style rifle from the roof of a building 400 feet to 450 feet from the stage. Crooks was shot and killed instantly by the United States Secret Service’s Counter Sniper Team.
