China 2008 Beijing Olympics Hand Over of the Olympic Flag 1 oz Silver Proof Color Medal

A colorful commemorative has been issued with the approval of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad; each proof quality piece is 1 oz. pure 999 fine silver. The Shenzhen Guobao Mint has produced 30,000, but only a small quantity are available in the United States. One side features the Olympic flag, with the 5 colored rings, flying above the Temple of Heaven, with the Parthenon in the background. The Olympic motto Citius Altius Fortius (Faster, Higher, Stronger) also appears; this text was carved in the stone of the main entrance to the ancient Greek Olympics. The reverse depicts the red Beijing 2008 logo and the 5 colored Olympic rings, along with the inscription “In Commemoration of the Hand Over of the Olympic Flag” in English and Chinese. It comes with a certificate of authenticity.
