Issued by The People’s Bank of China in 1980 and 1990.

This set of collection of the 8-note sheets of the 4th set of the Renminbi (RMB) comprises 7 denominations issued by the People’s Bank of China in 1980 and 1990. This is the first time that China has produced the uncut sheets of RMB that was in circulation.

RMB 50 Yuan x 8-uncut, H 140mm x W 310mm: the front design features the national emblem, the portraits of the Han and Inner Mongolia nationalities, the People’s bank of China in Chinese, face value in Chinese and numerals. The back design shows the picture of Mount Qomolangma, “the People’s Bank of China” in pinyin at the top and in the ethnic scripts of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur and Zhuang nationalities at the bottom. On the right lower corner is the number 1980 and the value mark is printed on the other three corners of the note.

RMB 5 Yuan x 8-uncut, H 140mm x W 300mm: the front the national emblem, the portraits of the Tibetan and Hui nationalities, the People’s Bank of China in Chinese, face value in Chinese and numbers. The back design shows the picture of the Wu Gorge of the Yangtze River, “the People’s Bank of China” in pinyin at the top and in the ethnic scripts of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur and Zhuang nationalities at the bottom. On the right lower corner is the number 1980 and the value mark is printed on the other three corners of the note.

RMB 2 Yuan x 8-uncut, H 128mm x W 290mm: the front the national emblem, the portraits of the Uygur and Yi nationalities, the People’s Bank of China in Chinese, face value in Chinese and numbers. The back design shows the picture of the Nantian Pill of the South China Sea, “the People’s Bank of China” in pinyin at the top and in the ethnic scripts of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur and Zhuang nationalities at the bottom. On the right lower corner is the number 1980 and the value mark is printed on the other three corners of the note.

RMB 1 Yuan x 8-uncut, H 126mm x W 280mm: the front the national emblem, the portraits of the Dong and Yao nationalities, the People’s Bank of China in Chinese, face value in Chinese and numbers. The back design shows the picture of the Great Wall, “the People’s Bank of China” in pinyin at the top and in the ethnic scripts of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur and Zhuang nationalities at the bottom. On the right lower corner is the number 1980 and the value mark is printed on the other three corners of the note.

RMB 5 Jiao x 8-uncut, H 116mm x W 250mm: the front features the portraits of the Miao and Zhuang nationalities, the People’s Bank of China in Chinese, face value in Chinese and numbers. The back design shows the national emblem, “the People’s Bank of China” in pinyin at the top and in the ethnic scripts of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur and Zhuang nationalities at the bottom. On the lower section is the number 1980 and the value mark is printed on the other two corners of the note.

RMB 2 Jiao x 8-uncut, H 110mm x W 240mm: the front features the portraits of the Buyi and Korean nationalities, the People’s Bank of China in Chinese, face value in Chinese and numbers. The back design shows the national emblem, “the People’s Bank of China” in pinyin at the top and in the ethnic scripts of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur and Zhuang nationalities at the bottom. On the lower section is the number 1980 and the value mark is printed on the other two corners of the note.

RMB 1 Jiao x 8-uncut, H 105 mm x W 230mm: the front features the portraits of the Gaoshan and Manchu nationalities, the People’s Bank of China in Chinese, face value in Chinese and numbers. The back design shows the national emblem, “the People’s Bank of China” in pinyin at the top and in the ethnic scripts of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur and Zhuang nationalities at the bottom. On the lower section is the number 1980 and the value mark is printed on the other two corners of the note.

Special feature: the last 5-banknote series number #EFxxxx6036 has matched the certificate number #xx6036.
