The People's Bank of China has issued 20,000 silver commemorative coins honoring the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge - the world's longest sea crossing bridge.
The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HKZMB) is a bridge-tunnel system, which consists of a series of three cable bridges and one undersea tunnel, as well as two artificial islands. It spans the Lingdingyang Channel, which connects Hong Kong with Macau and Zhuhai, three major cities on the Pearl River Delta. The total length of the bridge is 55 kilometers, making it now the longest bridge over water worldwide.
Officially minted at the Shenzhen Mint, each legal tender coin contains 30 grams of 99.9% pure silver.
